The Van Staal® VS Series reels have been the benchmark for durability and reliability for 30 years. The VS X2 Series is built on the VS foundation of simplicity and functionality and is made with the finest materials available for the No LimitationsTM angler. The X2 retains all the features the VS Series reels have become known for while adding key improvements from top to bottom. New sizing rounds out the portfolio from back bays to the offshore tuna grounds. The new unibody design increases strength and sealing while the longer handle, power knob, and power drag knob increases both cranking power and drag pressure. The oversized clutch is now on the pinion side which results in immediate hook sets. With smaller and faster reels, the benefits of the VS X2 can now be experienced by the inshore angler.

Shipping costs are calculated during the checkout process. Depending on the item(s) ordered, customers are presented with a choice of shipping options. Oversize Items (such as fishing rods) or multiple package shipments may require additional charges. In-Stock items are usually shipped within 3 to 5 business days. Customized items (such as reels pre-spooled with line) may take up to an extra two business days to ship to allow for the customizations to be made.
Shipping costs are calculated based on the carrier/options chosen at checkout. Shipping costs include the cost of the packaging.
Free Economy Shipping is offered on orders over $100.00. If this option is chosen at checkout, the carrier and service used to ship the order is determined by Grumpys Tackle at the time of order fulfillment. Some items, such as fishing rods and other odd/over sized items, are excluded from the free shipping offer.
Store pick up is available as an option, and is free. Store pickup orders will be available in 2 to 4 business days. Customized items, such as reels pre-spooled with line, may take up to an extra two days. Customers will be notified by e-mail or text, per the customers preference, when the order is ready. Orders will not be ready for pickup prior to the e-mail or text indicating so. When picking up an order, a customer will be required to provide the order number and a valid form of ID. Orders will not be released to anyone other that the customer who's name is on the invoice unless prior arrangements are made. Orders are to be picked up at 906 NE Central Ave, Seaside Park, NJ and will be available from Sunday to Thursday, Noon to 7:00 PM.
Shipping Fishing Rods: We have customized our shipping of fishing rods to fall into 7 tiers. All but the last tier (Tier MP - Market Price) are a flat rate to ship the rods. Multiple factors went into determining which tier a rod will fall into, including but not limited to cost of the rod, size of the box needed to ship the rod, etc. Rods may switch tiers due to the factors calculating their tier having changed. To determine a shipping cost on a specific rod, add it to you cart and go through the checkout process to the shipping section.

Solid VS quality. Perfect for 7' - 9' plugging rods. Drag sounds manly like the old school VS...best drag sound period... like music to my ears...
Watching videos with people using them. I was always thinking. Why would you put it in the sand who cares if you can? Why do you want to get it Wet in the water while you're fishing? But after using it for a couple of hours and realizing this. It's pretty cool Rock On thank you, grumpy's.
The VSX Gen.2 100 looks like it will fit the bill perfectly for my NJ surf fishing needs. The extended foot and power **** make it feel “big” but maintains a small body. I think the boosted retrieve rate and same drag power as the 150 will also suit my preference to fish lures throughout the season. Time will tell the story on durability, but I do have confidence in Van Staal. Besides all that, it looks terrific!
