What a Difference a Few Degrees Make
We are skipping the shop news for this one. For the one or two of you that are disappointed, it will be back next report.
It’s amazing what adding a little heat to the water does. The rise in water temps seems to have awoken the bluefish up and down the beach. They are on the smaller side, but have readily been taking mullet or metals.
The kingfish have also shown up. Clams, squid or fishbites have been taking them.
The surf fishing for fluke is still a slow pick, with the fish being caught falling for bucktails and Gulp!
On the bayside, crabbing is still excellent and the spot remain a very willing participant in your fishing adventure. The new twist is we are hearing of blowfish in the bay, mostly south by the BB buoy.
Some notable catches:
Our cover photo: @jerseyspeargirl with a beautiful 7.40lb Fluke she speared in the inlet.
@canadian_man32 found the kingfish Thursday morning on Fishbites.
