First Official Spring 2021 Report
Thanks everyone for coming out to the shop, or visiting the website, for our Spring Has Sprung sale. It was a rousing success. We appreciate everyone’s support. Ray is trying to be humble about this. As you can see, he is failing… We have moved things around in the shop. We now have a self-serve frozen bait freezer for our customers. For those of you who don’t want to talk to us in the shop, you can grab whatever you want yourself, including squid for fluke, and bunker for crabbing. And if you are going to miss talking to...
Ray Thawed Out
We received a big order today. Sixty five boxes. It warmed Ray so much he totally thawed out since the last fishing report. And even grew some hair (see the picture...). We will have a lot of restocking to do, but should have it all out well before the weekend. What did we get? Wait and see, we still have boxes to open... Oh yeah, right. You are here for a fishing report... It's been a blizzard since the last report. The ocean has been in "Victory at Sea" mode for the past few days. The waves are reaching to, and...
Striped Bass are Still Here
We got some reports on Wednesday of fish being caught along the beach in Seaside Park and out on Island Beach State Park. It's not the action we had a month ago, but there are still stripers around. What hasn't changed is what they are getting them on, Avas, Hurleys, Tsunami Sand Eels, and teasers. We did have one angler report that the fish had peanut bunker pinned to the beach for short while, so it might not hurt to have Tsunami Shads or Storm shads with you too. Our hours for December 24th are shortened. We will be opening...
Fall Migration is here...
We had decent reports coming in all day but it got really good Tuesday night. Big Scott (In Pic) , Keith, and Dave had them really good tonight on a little of everything! Seems this latest cold front has turned them on! Scabelly Gliders, Yo-zuri Mag Darters, Shimano Coltsnipers, and Teasers. Some of the fish were in the keeper category. I can say with confidence that the run is here. Put your time in and you'll be rewarded. Guys are consistently catching everyday. Open 430am-8pm In-Store! Open 24 hours Online!
Water was dirty Monday but there was fish
The bass reports were coming in even with the dirty water. Even heard of a couple pushing the 43" range! Metals, Teasers, and Plastic eels like the Bill Hurley/Tsunami Eels were producing. To sum it up the fish are here. Are they here in huge number yet? No but we have guys catching consistently everyday. Use the proper artificials that will imitate a sand eel and you'll be in the game. The guys that want to fish bait I have no good news. The bait game is slow as of right now.
