Striped Bass Have Arrived
We received an order of Gibbs Lures in earlier this week. We restocked the shop and will be adding these to the online store in the next few days. First up are the ProSeries Danny Surface Swimmers. Crawling a metal lipped swimmer near a bunker school or over some fish holding structure pulls up some big fish and results in some of the most explosive strikes you will see. Gibbs Lures made one of the original surface swimming metal lips, and these still catch fish now just as well as when they were developed. The ProSeries model is an improvement over the classic wood model with VMC hooks, Spro Swivels, Wolverine Split Rings, and the addition of glass eyes.
We also restocked on the S&S Bucktails Surf Candy teasers, plus added three new colors, Blurple, Yellow, and Old School, which has a bright red bloodline running down the side. Those look fishy…
We also received a big shipment of waders. Unfortunately, this will also be our last shipment of waders until next year. If you need waders, or even if you think you might need waders, now would be the time to get them. While we prefer you come into the shop in person to purchase them so you can try them on and get the correct fit, if you know your size and would prefer we ship them to you, reach out to us on our Contact Us page.
The bass are here. In the surf, not just the back bay anymore. And some sizeable ones too.
Today we had a report of a 46 inch bass caught in the IBSP surf on a bunker chunk. As you can see, the fish was long and lean. If you look closely, you can also see if is a pug-nosed bass.
Thomas also got into them, and sent us this picture of a schoolie striper he caught in the surf.
Andrew also got into fish in the dark. While he didn’t tell us where he was, its is pretty obvious this was not a surf caught fish. It fell for a Tsunami Pro Holographic Swim Bait.
Ray is happy the bass are back. If you ask me, he is a little too happy…
