It's Mullet Season
First, shop news…
…and we are done with shop news.
The fishing remains good in the surf. The star of the show recently on the surf are the bluefish. They are taking mullet, small metals and epoxy jigs. Anglers throwing epoxy jigs have also been seeing bonito, Spanish mackerel and the occasional false albacore in the surf.
Fluke are still taking bucktails & Gulp! and Lucky Craft Pointer DD jerk baits in the surf.
In the bay, the spot are still around, though they seem to be slowing a little. The snapper bluefish are making up for them, however. Anglers fishing live spot are finding some real nice fluke in the bay.
Here are some notable catches:
Brooke and her dad braved the east wind and had a stellar day with bluefish galore on fresh mullet.
Emma got her first blue and she let Tim catch some too. @timtjemma had a fun morning in the surf with fresh mullet.
Brian Arling with a 3.7 lb surf fluke.
Pat V with a 15” porgy on the jetty because, of course he did.
It’s mullet season, so here is another photo of Ray with a mullet on his head…
