Hey, These Bluefish Have Stripes...

We got some new stuff in the store and for the online store.

First off, we added Tsunami Trophy Slow Pitch Jigging Spinning rods to the online store line up.  Tsunami has really upped their game in the rod department in the past couple of years, and these are no exception.  Light, strong, and sensitive, they make great rods for jigging fluke (for next year) or jigging stripers (for this fall run).  Where they really excel is they also make perfect rods for fishing jigs for blackfish.  Pair them with a light spinning reel like a Penn 3500 Slammer III, a Tsunami Evict 4000, a Daiwa BG 3000, or a Shimano Stradic 3000 (Ray’s favorite blackfish reel), and you will have a perfect setup for the upcoming ‘tog season.

We also added P-Line Adaro pliers both in-store and online.  We have two sizes, the 7.5 inch Adaro pliers and the 6.5 inch Adaro Jr pliers.  They are made of aluminum with stainless steel jaws for durability.  They have replaceable tungsten carbide cutters that can cut braid and come with a sheath and lanyard.  Those features match the more expensive pliers at a more wallet-friendly price.

We have restocked on the Baker Hookout tools.  While these seem like a simple tool, they can be invaluable with all of the bluefish around.  We carry the stainless steel model for use in saltwater.

And yet, none of this is the shipment Ray was excited for in yesterday’s report

Speaking of bluefish, the reports we got from the beach was that the bluefish were ravaging the mullet.  The advice was to find the bait, and you would find the bluefish.

But there is more…

Some anglers were able to pull some schoolie striped bass out from under the schools of bluefish.  Don’t believe us?  We have pictures to prove it…

Jarret Dial was able to pull a bunch of striped bass like the one pictured from among the bluefish using Kettle Creek Shads on an S&S bullet Head Jig.

Mike Kucharski went a different route and caught multiple bass among the mullet schools on SP minnows

It is full on mullet season right now.  We have plenty in the shop for fishing.  Ray, not wanting to feel left out, got into the act too...
