Happy Winter Solstice

First, shop news…

Next week, we will be observing some special hours for the holiday.  On Tuesday, Christmas Eve, the shop will be open from 7:00 am until noon.  On Wednesday, Christmas Day, the shop will be closed.

Just a reminder, if you still want to donate to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, our collection box will be available until we close Christmas Eve.

We have news on the fishing front.  It seems either a new wave of striped bass, or a new group of anglers have moved into the area.  Or both.  We have received reports of bass being caught on artificials and even bait both north and south of the shop.  That gives us some hope of a Christmas day bass, and possibly even further into the winter.

Some recent notable catches:

Well, Barney does it again! When there’s no reports, he’s making them! A fish caught on mullet off the surf!

@getem_gator43 and his buddy crushed them yesterday on artificials (metal lip swimmers, bucktails and avas)! There’s still some fish around…

Some of you may have noticed a crane above Grumpys the other day.  Contrary to what we are hearing, Ray did not have a drone deterrent system installed on the roof, regardless of how scared Scott is of them.  What really occurred is much more pedestrian.  Grumpys had a new heating unit installed on the roof.  Ray is enjoying ranking up the heat right now.  He is a regular Heatmiser…
