Any fishermen out there?

Dunno where they all are but they are not on the beaches. This is the time of year to get the maximum amount of beach time in so you can be there when the Bass come in. Remember, short bursts of Bass at sporadic intervals is what to expect. Ocean water temps are into the low 60s so bring that plugging pole too! You want to catch some fish, you will have to get off the couch and put down the phone.
No excuses from the weather idiots either - Partly sunny. Highs in the upper 60s. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph.
Did you remember to renew your Saltwater registration? It takes a minute, costs nothing and its the law:

The lifeguard must have been off duty when Mike got into the gene pool.

Back to Fishin
Ok guys. The rain is over, so get back on the beaches and get to work! Needless to say, if you had fished yesterday, you wouldnt have been worried about the crowds! Ocean water temps are intop the lower 60s so grab the raingear so you wont need it and get to the beach!
We got another delivery of Hodgman Pipestone Breatheable Waders in so I think we have all mens and womens sizes covered. Get em while the selection is good. The last load didnt last very long.
From the how bad can I make this sound department at the weather idiot office - Mostly cloudy with a slight chance of showers this morning...then partly sunny with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon. Areas of fog this morning. Highs in the mid 70s. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent. Somehow, once you toss the doom and gloom, its gonna be a nice day!

What was I thinking yesterday? Not even Santa would visit Mike.

More of the same
Plenty of big Bass in the neighborhood yesterday but they were out of reach of the beach fishermen. Come to think of it, there werent all that many beach fishermen to see if they did come in. The Kayaks got the job done but they had to really work for it. Nick Feeny was on the beach when some Bass came through and brought in a 28lb and 30lb at dusk. He is more proof to my theory that you will catch more fish holding a rod that you will holding a phone!
The evil weatherman continues in his quest to find any possibility of a raindrop - Showers likely this morning...then showers likely with a slight chance of thunderstorms this afternoon. Highs in the upper 60s. South winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 70 percent. Yeah sure.

Santa Claus may have the right idea, visit Mike once a year!

Some nice Bass around!
Mothers Day belonged to the Kayaks/boats with a dozen or so Bass on the scale. Shelly Caris did get a sweet 30 lber on a plug from the beach but mostly, the Bass were out of casting range. All the conditions are great. You just have to be there when they decide to run the beaches!
The evil weatherman is gonna try to make it rain (again) - Mostly cloudy with a 40 percent chance of showers. Highs in the upper 60s. South winds 10 to 15 mph. Nothing the raingear cant handle if it does happen.

Happy Mothers Day!!
Thanks to all the Moms! We wouldnt be here if it wasnt for you!
Yesterday was something of a disappointment with only a couple of blues and short Bass reported from the beaches. The kayak boys did get into some nice Bass on a short daybreak bite in the Ortley/Lavallette area. There is plenty of bunker in the neighborhood and there are some good size Bass running with them. The tough part is getting there when they come through. Typical sring fishing, you need to get the beach hours in so you can be there when the fish come in!
The weather idiots came up with this for the guess of the day - Partly sunny this morning...then becoming mostly cloudy. Breezy with highs in the lower 70s. Southwest winds 5 to 10 mph... increasing to 15 to 20 mph this afternoon.

Fine Looking Day!
Maybe we will see some fishermen today to enjoy this pretty weather? I expected to see more guys out yesterday with the first nice day after a rainy week but that didnt happen. We did have some guys going out after dinner last night but havent heard back from them yet. Be sure to bring the plugging pole, the catch and release guys are getting better results on swimmers and pencil poppers. Ocean water temps have crept into the upper 50s while you werent looking.

This is what the weather idiots say - Sunny. Highs in the lower 70s. West winds 10 to 15 mph.
Ever notice that when you walk past Mike when he is talking, your ears will pop. Must have something to do with the vacuum in his head.
